Problem: One size-fits all approach doesn't work for most students
At Maths Grinds Dublin, we want to solve the biggest problem every student faces in maths: Understanding. As Albert Einstein said"Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think." The problem with the current grinds industry is that all the big grinds schools put students in large classes and expect them to develop understanding. This doesn't work for all students.
We believe every student deserves a unique personalised solution to their needs as a student. Our goal is to be the go-to solution for personalised maths grinds in Ireland and with over 1,347+ classes on-going in 2024 we are well on our way!
Problem: In Irish Secondary schools 16% of maths classes have over 30+ students
With class sizes on the rise there has never been a greater need for personalisation when it comes to maths. Ireland is full of students with massive potential but who have never been given the personlised 1-to-1 time it takes to understand complex topics deeply.
In fact if you're reading this I challenge you to think has your child ever received any 1-to-1 maths help at all since primary school? Probably not, right? In schools class sizes keep getting bigger and bigger and that personalised attention is waining. This is where we come in.
We are Irelands only 1-to-1 grinds specialists and Irelands #1 small group class specialists, with our group classes being less than 5 studnets per class. Every student who gets our grinds gets the personalised attention they deserve!

Daniel, the founder of Maths Grinds Dublin, has had a lifelong passion for maths. He first began tutoring the subject during his own Leaving Cert year in 2015, when he achieved the top grade of A1(Yes, they were still called A1's back then!) showcasing Daniel's exceptional talent and mastery of the material.
Following his secondary school performance, Daniel took his maths abilities to University College Dublin (UCD), where he pursued a degree in Electronic Engineering. He graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor's in Electronic Engineering
Throughout his time at UCD, Daniel continued to offer maths grinds on the side, steadily building a reputation for his personalised and effective teaching approach. Word of his expertise quickly spread, laying the foundations for what would become Maths Grinds Dublin.
Alongside his university studies, Daniel also gained valuable practical experience working as an Electronic Engineer at one of Ireland's leading medical device R&D centres. In this role, he had the opportunity to collaborate with multiple BT Young Scientist project winners, helping them develop their innovative technologies for the final competition at the RDS.
2025 for Maths Grinds Dublin: A Landmark Year
As Daniel progressed in his career, he couldn't help but notice a growing gap in the availability of high-quality, personalized maths tutoring. Recognizing this need, he decided to reengage in grinds activities full-time in 2024. Since then, he has established Maths Grinds Dublin, which now serves an impressive student base of over 1,347+ as of the end of 2024.
Daniel's years of experience, combined with his genuine passion for maths and teaching, makes him uniquely qualified to help students of all levels reach their full academic potential. Re: Why you should consider us?...
That's the ultimate question, if you weren't at least considering some of Irelands bigger names in the grinds industry I would be worried! We understand that parents invest in grinds with one primary objective - maximising your childs maths abilities. The day of overcorwded classrooms achieving this goal are gone and the biggest players in the industry haven't caught up. A personalised solution for your child is A MUST. We provide this , not only provides that in the grind istelf but throughout the week when they're struggling on page 216 of their maths exam papers who is there for them? the answer is us! We are there go-to help with all things maths at any time, not just a one-stop-shop once a week for 45 minutes!
I always say improving your maths result is simple not easy, it's just 3 things every student needs to master! Understanding, accountability and consistency. Think about anything you consider yourself skilled at in life. The reason you became good is because you understood why you were doing it, you were rewarded or motivated enough to stay accountable to this and you did it for a very long period of time without giving up!
What is NOT simple for a student to do, however, is to:

Constructing your own study plan, without comprehensive knowledge of the syllabus

Maintaining rigorous self-accountability for weekly academic tasks

Independently evaluating and interpreting personal exam performance
-
Attempting past Leaving/ Junior Cert Maths questions without the deep knowledge of the topics

Managing multiple other subjects whilst addressing maths deficiencies
-
Doing this consistently every week, without anybody having your back to tell them they're doing the right thing!
These are all the things we provide every week to every single student in Maths Grinds Dublin!
We've been there done that, not only with our own Leaving Certs where we all received H1's (or A1 in my case) but with our experience teaching thousands of students 1-to-1 combined and tens of thousands of 1-to-1 classes!
